Caelen Thorne awoke alone in a cold cave deep within the mountain chain bordering the Empire of Orbistan. He remembered nothing—no name, no purpose, no past. His thoughts were scattered, fragmented like shattered glass struggling to form a reflection of something lost. The body he found himself in felt wrong, unfamiliar, too small.

Weakened and confused, he stumbled out of the mountains and collapsed near a village stream. There, a kind herbalist discovered him. When he couldn’t remember who he was, she gave him the name **Caelen**, an old name in her family meaning *“of the storm-winds”* in a forgotten dialect—an ode to the strange, electric energy she sensed within him.

The surname **Thorne** came from the only item in his possession: a scorched iron ring etched with the words *“Thorne of the Sky.”* Whether it was a title, a name, or something more, Caelen didn’t know—but it felt important.

In the weeks that followed, he took odd jobs to survive: guarding caravans, clearing ruins, even chasing down bandits. All the while, he searched for clues to his identity and the origin of the power that surged within him—a power that whispered of something ancient, scaled, and draconic.
